WHERE I WORKED
Organizational gatekeepers are those ‘‘key individuals in an organization who are both strongly connected to internal audiences as well as external audiences, and who are capable of translating organizational information across communication boundaries (Tushman & Katz, 1980, p. 12).
I was drawn to communication in college and explored political science as a minor area of study. I started my career in public information and quickly recognized the kind of impact I wanted to make. With each opportunity, I grew to understand the nonprofit sector even deeper and have committed the last 15 years to becoming a better strategic planner.
